On Thursday, drama pupils from Years 9 and 10 were involved in our first Drama Showback Evening of the term. The event was planned by Mrs Wormald and Miss Rowland as a chance for pupils to share their work with their peers and to gain the experience of performing for a live audience: a vital part of GCSE Drama.
Both groups have been working this term on a Drama Exploration unit. Pupils are asked to use drama techniques to explore a theme or issue which may affect them, or offer an interesting topic for discussion. Year 9 pupils have explored Social Media and Year 10 performed a piece based on the sinking of the Titanic.
All the pupils enjoyed the experience of performing for their peers and we hope that this will become a regular part of Drama curriculum enhancement. Miss Rowland said: ‘I am very proud of all the performers. They really stretched themselves in performance and have shown their peers how brilliant they can be.’
