On a dramatically mist shrouded afternoon, the Fyling Hall year 7 and 8 Science pupils gathered in anticipation of an afternoon of scientific adventure. Their destination, the rock pools of Robin Hood’s Bay; their aim, to explore, observe, identify and record as many species – both local and invasive – as possible. The result: wonder, discovery, teamwork and lots of fun – all at the boundary between play and science.
We would like to express our thanks to the Wildlife Trust – http://www.wildlifetrusts.org/ – and North Sea Wildlife – www.northseawildlife.org.uk – for the provision of colourful and very useful flora and fauna identification charts.
