On Thursday 18th September, the Year 10 students went to Scarborough hospital for the afternoon. The hospital staff had organised an open day, which gave the wards and departments an opportunity to showcase their work. The open day also gave our pupils a chance to learn more about what takes place within the hospital on a daily basis.

It was a great opportunity for pupils to find out more about the range of jobs on offer in a hospital, how the hospital works and the vast range of potential careers that can be pursued.

Pupils were able to talk to staff, ask questions and take part in their quizzes to see just how much they did know. Some of the pupils went on a tour ‘behind the scenes’ and were shown the generators, the de-contaminating and sterilising area and the huge oxygen tanks!
