What an amazing cake sale!  When Fyling Hall’s Sixth Form put their fundraising plans in motion, they never anticipated the response.  So many cakes were kindly donated that the event lasted three days and raised over £550 pounds.  You will recall that all of the funds are going to the Anthony Nolan charity, who support Junior School pupil, Evie.

Headmaster, Mr Allen, commented,

It was great to see all elements of school pulling together.  I have never known a cake sale where the parents, carers, staff and students have given so generously, either in funds or cakes. In addition to fundraising for a very worthy cause which is close to our hearts, the cake sale was a nice treat for our students as it has been a while since our last sale. Well done to our Sixth Form for organising a great fundraiser.

Head Girl, Phoebe Russell added,

Thank you to all parents and carers who generously gave their time to provide our bountiful contributions.  One parent baked 57 cakes!  This is in addition to the cakes made by our boarders over the weekend.  Thank you!

I cannot believe that we have raised over £550!  I read yesterday that kits are delayed due to funding, so the fact that we have raised enough for 12 more kits in three days is amazing.  We have one more event this term, Christmas Jumper Day. I wonder what total we will reach for the term?

A truly amazing cake sale, I am sure you will agree!
