Maria, one of Fyling Hall’s head girls, has been volunteering in year 8 pupils’ English as a Second Language (ESL) lesson since the start of term. As a German student she remembers what it is like to be learning a language from scratch. She helps pupils with translations, playing language games and working one on one with pupils.
