Discover Fyling Hall Days
The best way to truly appreciate Fyling Hall is to see it in action. Our Discover Fyling Hall Days are held every other month and are designed to give prospective families a real taste of school life. Whether you’re considering day or boarding options, these events are an excellent opportunity to get to know us better.
During a Discover Fyling Hall Day, you will:
- Be taken on a personal guided tour of our beautiful campus, set in stunning grounds overlooking Robin Hood’s Bay and the North York Moors.
- Meet our headmaster, teachers, and current students who are eager to share their experiences.
- Observe real lessons, allowing you to see how our small class sizes ensure each child receives the attention and support they need to thrive.
- Visit our boarding houses to explore life as a boarder at Fyling Hall.
- Enjoy a relaxed environment where you can ask questions and get a feel for our welcoming school community.

Stay & Play
For families with younger children, our Stay & Play sessions are an ideal way to introduce your child to school life. Designed for children aged 2.5 to 7 years old, these engaging sessions offer a wonderful opportunity to experience the nurturing, hands-on approach that we pride ourselves on at Fyling Hall.
During our Stay & Play afternoons, you and your child will:
- Join our Forest School for an afternoon of outdoor adventures, designed to spark creativity, develop problem-solving skills, and foster a love for nature. Be sure to bring your wellies!
- Explore our Early Years classrooms, meet our caring teachers, and see how our youngest pupils learn through play in a friendly and supportive setting.
- Chat with our teachers about how Fyling Hall provides a community where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
These events are held throughout the year in October, February, and April, but you’re always welcome to arrange a visit at another time that suits you.

Personalised Tours
We understand that not everyone can attend our scheduled events, so we offer Personalised Tours at a time that is convenient for you. These tailored visits allow you to explore our facilities, meet our staff, and ask any questions you may have in a one-on-one setting.
Simply get in touch with our school office to arrange your personalised tour, and we’ll make sure your visit is as informative and enjoyable as possible. If you’re unable to visit in person, we’re happy to arrange a virtual tour or meeting, so you can still experience the essence of Fyling Hall from wherever you are.

Taster Days
Choosing a school is a significant decision, and we want to ensure that Fyling Hall is the perfect fit for your child. That’s why we offer Taster Days for both day pupils and prospective boarders. These taster experiences are designed to give your child a real insight into school life, so they can make a confident decision about joining our community and can be arranged after you have had an initial visit to school.
- Day Pupils can spend a day or more attending classes, getting to know their potential classmates, and experiencing the atmosphere of Fyling Hall firsthand.
- Boarders are welcome to try a “taste of boarding,” where they can stay with us for up to a week to see what life is like in our boarding houses. This experience allows prospective boarders to fully immerse themselves in the routines and camaraderie of boarding life at Fyling Hall.
