Last night saw the start to this year’s fundraising . . . although, strictly speaking, this first event was not a money raising event. It was more about everyone in the school community getting together, from the junior school parents and teachers to the senior parents and teachers. “After such a crazy couple of years we feel like this has been long awaited,” commented head students, Josh and Liv.
The quiz night was hosted by our very own Quiz Master and held in the school dining hall with refreshments and nibbles. With six teams vying for first place, it was a competitive night indeed. The night was also attended by our new Chair of Trustees, Jacqui Golland who commented “It was a great opportunity to meet parents, staff and our boarders who also attended. I am thrilled that face to face social events are back on the calendar.”
Fundraising begins in earnest with the first cake sale of the year on Monday 11th October. Our head students have request traybakes, cakes and biscuits; if possible the theme is anything pink or blue as these are the colours of the Neoangels charity, but any contributions will be most welcome.
The students have set a target of raising £5000 over the next academic year to be split between their chosen charities and funds for school (to be decided). The charities are Neoangels, a charity close to Olivia’s heart, who help support premature and ill babies along with their families in James Cook and North Tees Hospitals, and the Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary, a local animal charity which many of you will know.
Thank you to everyone who attended our quiz and gave us a great start this year’s fundraising. We are grateful for your support and with your continued support, are confident that we can reach our ambitious target.
