Yamina joined Fyling Hall School in January, just as England entered Lockdown 3. As an international student, she shares her initial experience with us including why she thinks our “teachers are able to look after me more than in Germany” . . .

I have been at Fyling Hall School for already two months. Even though we had online lessons during that time, it was still great. I could meet amazing people here who really helped me improve my English. Because the classes are way smaller than in Germany, I felt that the teachers are able to look after me more than in Germany, and I felt that I learned more.

What I first noticed when I first arrived, is the warm atmosphere here. Everyone is nice to you. I really felt like I was a part of this community even though I wasn’t here since long. And even though we obviously could do less than normally because of the lockdown the staff still looked that we had entertainment apart from school, for example we really had to go outside during Games lessons and the sports hall was opened every night.

All in all I had some really good experiences here which I am sure I will never forget. I found some really good friends who helped me a lot here.
