Fyling Hall has a long tradition of providing a quality education while becoming a second home for international students. We are a small school with a friendly family atmosphere, where pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of our diverse and inclusive community.
At Fyling Hall we understand that deciding to educate your child abroad at boarding school is a big decision for parents, but we hope that the nurturing and inspiring environment we provide will help to make this decision a little easier.
When away from home we think it is essential that your child feels part of a community and that their needs are always put first. Our boarding community forges strong relationships between the pupils and the staff and a real sense of family is created as a result. Providing guidance, support, advice and a safe environment for our boarders, encourages them to be independent and play an active role in all elements of school life. We strive to create a relaxed, yet purposeful homely environment, where everyone feels valued as individuals.

International Students
The English Experience
All international students are supported by quality English lessons, in small classes, from specialist teachers with CELTA qualifications. This support is a vital element in helping your child to access mainstream lessons, and developing their ability to communicate in English effectively. International pupils are actively encouraged to integrate in all areas of school life and cultural experiences. This fully integrated English school experience results in rapid language development which in turn, enhances the chance of academic success.
Top Boarding School Yorkshire
We are located in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, with 45 acres of countryside, sports fields and woodland. We have a spectacular coastal setting and we are a 10 minute drive from the world famous fishing port of Whitby. This safe and beautiful environment plays an important role in all aspects of school life and provides an excellent backdrop to allow your children to learn, grow and develop.
After School Activities & Weekend Programme
At Fyling Hall, we provide a diverse extra-curricular and weekend activity programme which provides opportunities for new experiences and keeps our students busy. Sport, music, drama and The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme are at the core of our extra-curricular programme but additional academic subjects and specialist clubs such as climbing, board games, craft club ensure that there is something for everyone. However there is always time to relax, and weekends are action packed: shopping, fell running, cinema, paintballing, surfing, mountain biking, rambling and canoeing all feature regularly on the programme.

Keeping in Touch
All the boarding houses have a phone line with a direct number and the office or duty master is always available to answer the main school number. Most mobile phone networks work around the school site and advice can be given about this if required. The school site is covered by a wireless internet network which the pupils have access to. This makes email, Skype and social media a quick and easy way to contact your children. The school website is also updated regularly with all of the events going on around school, so you can see what your children have been involved with throughout the term.
Private School North Yorkshire
We are located in the North of England which is serviced by a number of international airports, and major railway stations that link directly to London. We try to remove the worry and stress of travelling to and from our school: we offer an escorted bus to Manchester airport and York railway station at the start and end of each term. At the start and end of every half term we escort to York Railway station and organise transfers to the airport by taxi. We will also endeavour to offer further assistance and guidance if you need to make travel arrangements outside of these services.
