Our third and final band who are headlining the event, all the way from Liverpool is the amazing Sweet Beans.
Sweet Beans is a self-proclaimed ‘riot-jazz’ band hailing from Liverpool. They have been consistently performing and gigging around the city since early 2019, and since the pandemic have released two four-track EP’s as well as a single before it. They are currently streaming their 2 Eps ‘The Dance Side of the Track’ and ‘The Dark Side of the Dance’ on all major music streaming sites, so go check them out! The wonderful drummer Henry Atkinson is an ex pupil from Fyling Hall, one of our old A Level Pupils and we can’t wait to see how he has developed as a musician.

Genre Bending Music
Stylistically, the music is a combination of raucous big-band horns, jazzy harmonies, rocking electric guitar and rhythms rooted in techno and other dance music styles. Helen Maw from Liverpool Noise describes them as “The fusion of typically orchestral instruments with funky guitar riffs and of course the thumping kick drum makes for a genre bending, eye watering set”. They were also described as “an earthquake” by Frank Griffith on his Liverpool Community Radio show ‘The Jazz Hour’.
The band has played in many prestigious venues around the city including The Jacaranda, The Kazimier, District and Frederiks, as well as up-and-coming powerhouse Future Yard. They also played a sold-out show at Heebie Jeebies for their debut EP launch. The band participated in an online music festival during the pandemic, and is currently streaming their first EP titled ‘The Dance Side of the Dark’ on all major music sites.
Whether you’re a jazz fan, metalhead or techno lover, Sweet Beans’ music and electrifying live presence has proven time and again to get any crowd going wild. Check out their facebook page for more info.
