On the 14th March (or 3.14), it was National Pi day. To celebrate this fantastic irrational number, our KS3 students have been looking at all that is Pi. Not only have they discovered the history of the number, they have also been calculating it. The Year 7 group used cookies to check if the circumference divided by the diameter did indeed equal Pi (with the exception of the odd chocolate chip in the way, some of the answers were close!), and students also investigated if aliens actually know about pi – the clues are in the crop circles! Along with Pi Dingbats, and of course the obligatory pie eating (had to be done), the days was a fun way to celebrate the never ending number.
