On Tuesday 13th June pupils from years 7 to 11 represented Fyling Hall as part of the Whitby and Ryedale Partnership Athletics team. They were to competing against the Scarborough and Filey Schools Partnership. After making the journey to York university athletics facility, the event got off to a quick start.
Ez Nebiat set the tone for the rest of the day with a superb run winning the 1500m race. There were some other excellent performances from pupils but Neve Eddon was the pick of the bunch posting three personal bests in Triple Jump, Long jump, 100m and securing two new school records in both the triple jump (the previous record was 29 years old) and long jump (previous record was set 37 years ago!).
Everyone enjoyed the meet. Well done to all the pupils for taking part.
