Along with thousands of other children across the country, Fyling Hall’s Y6 pupils sat the Primary Maths Challenge paper last week. They took their preparation very seriously. Not only did they go through past papers and problems in class, with Y9 students, they also prepped at home, with mathematical parents or siblings.
The Primary Maths Challenge (PMC) is a fun and exciting mathematical challenge designed to encourage enthusiasm, boost confidence in mathematics and show the different ways questions can be asked. The PMC is designed to highlight the importance of problem solving as a means of helping pupils develop their reasoning skills, and to encourage pupils to think outside the box.
Well done to all those who took part, and watch this space to see whether any of our students go through to the bonus round next year!
