On Friday 6th September pupils from Fyling Hall travelled up to Newcastle to see the return of the Falcons to the Rugby Premiership against Bath. Even the driving rain could not dampen the mood before kick off, though everyone was soaked through! However as the match progressed it was quite clear that the chance of seeing much free flowing rugby would be hard to come by. Bath’s defence in the first half was magnificent with the Falcons playing with the wind but unable to register any points. The game did not improve much during the second half which Bath ran out comfortable winners 21-0. Hopefully, when we return in December to watch the Falcons host Harlequins, the weather will be a little drier with greater attacking flair on display.
