On Wednesday evening, the junior boarders ventured out after dinner on the second school bus to spend the evening discovering Whitby. Following Rosie through the town, they went for a walk down the east pier to the old lighthouse, waving at passing fishing boats, spotting local landmarks, and finding the fossils in the concrete as they went. The stop for the obligatory ice cream was well timed as we all watched the lifeboat crew go out for a practice run.
We then walked through the alleyways and hidden paths up through the town to Pannett Park to make the most of the lovely evening in the play area. It was huge fun although I’m certainly out of practice at playing tig! A lovely evening out and definitely more fun than doing prep (just don’t tell Mr Allen!).
