It’s that busy time of year. With just a week to go until the end of term and the lead-up to Christmas there is a lot going on at Fyling Hall School. Here is a  summary of the last week’s activities and events! Plenty of fantastic things to get involved with and to get you into the Christmas spirit – carols, shows, the fayre, the Christmas draw…. and a few dates and details to remember as well. We hope you are able to celebrate with us. 

Now Until Tuesday 12th December (pm) – Raffle Ticket Sales

Raffle tickets are on sale for the Grand Christmas Draw! Pupils have booklets of tickets for sale and there are m

ore available at school should you need them. Thank you to all those who have already bought tickets, lets see if we can sell them all.

Prizes include; £100 cash, luxury food hampers, meals, wellness vouchers, lego kits and more! The raffle will be drawn at 5pm on Tuesday 12th at the Christmas Fayre.

 

Sunday 10th  December – 7:15pm – Fyling Hall Choir Performance at Eliza Carthy and Jon Boden’s Wassail 

The choir will perform in the foyer from 7:15 – 7:45pm as the audience arrive, and then perform an acapella song with Eliza and Jon on stage.  Tickets for the Wassail can be purchased from Whitby Pavillion. Those in the choir should arrive at 4:50pm and can be collected at 8:45pm – pizza tea provided! If choir members have any questions please contact Mrs Swain.

 

Monday 11th December – 2pm – Lights, Camel, Action – The Junior School Christmas Play (first performance)

The junior school Christmas play, taking place in The Barn Theatre promises to be a whole lot of fun. Please contact Mrs Freer if you have any questions or still need tickets.

 

Tuesday 12th December – 2pm – Lights, Camel, Action – The Junior School Christmas Play (second performance)

 

Tuesday 12th December – 3pm – 5pm – The Christmas Fayre

Brought to you by the Friends of Fyling Hall (PTA) the fayre includes Christmas treats, festive games, Santa’s grotto, craft and gift stalls and of course the raffle draw at 5pm. The senior school will finish lessons at 3:20pm to allow time to visit the fayre.

 

Wednesday 13th December – Christmas Jumper Day

Pupils can wear a festive jumper or outfit for a suggested donation of £1 or non-uniform for a donation of £2. All money raised will go towards Martin House Children’s Hospice  who support children and their families across the region.

Wednesday 13th December – Junior School Christmas Lunch and Party

Junior school pupils can wear their party clothes (and festive jumpers if they wish).

Wednesday 13th December  – 5pm – 7pm – Junior School Carols & Mince Pies

The carol concert takes place at West Lodge. Please park at the school where mini-buses will be available.

 

Thursday 14thDecember  – 11:00 am – End of Term Carol Concert at St Stephen’s Church

This is always a special event, taking place at St Stephen’s Church in Robin Hoods Bay. We hope many parents will be able to join us at the church to mark the end of term. Pupils should wear full school uniform and arrive at school at the normal time. The end of the Carol Service marks the end of term.

 

Thursday 14th December – 12noon End of Term

School buses leave directly from the church at 12:15pm.

 

Friday 15th December – Junior School Feature on Coast Radio

Tune in to This is The Coast at 7:40am, 8:40am or 3:40pm to hear the junior school performing ’10 More Sleeps Till Santa’s Here!’ on the radio.
