Choosing the right school for your children is one of the most important decisions you make as a parent. Over twenty years ago I first came to visit Fyling Hall with my husband. We wanted to know that, especially in their early years, our children would be nurtured, love coming to school and be excited about their learning. The fact that the senior school was on the same site, meaning that transition into Year 7 was seamless also contributed to our decision. We met the then headmaster, Mr Bayes, who gave us a wonderful tour of the school. We loved it. That visit started a long and happy relationship with the school; first as a parent and later as a teacher. My children thrived in the school and were happy, confident young adults when they left.
At Fyling Hall Junior School we put the pupils at the centre of everything we do and encourage them to be the best they can be. Each child is treated as and encouraged to be an individual and in Early Years, we use their interests as the basis for our planning. But don’t just take my word for it; come and see what we do for yourself. We are having our second Stay and Play session on Friday 12th November from 1.00 until 3.00pm.
Our first Stay and Play afternoon was a very wet one but this did not stop us from having a wonderful afternoon! Parents and children joined in our art and craft session and then went up to forest school with some of my fabulous Form 1 pupils as guides. The parents saw first-hand, what happens in and out of the classroom. Enthusiastic staff, small classes, an exciting curriculum, all set in glorious grounds with our own forest school would be a fantastic start to your child’s education. Want to know more? Please come and join us on the 12th November and see what we do for yourselves. As you make one of the most important decisions you make as a parent, you’ll be glad you did.
