“For the past term, the A Level music class and I have been collaborating to produce music. Some of that music was composed by ourselves and some we covered in our own style.
With talented singers, drummers, guitarists, bass players, sax player and pianists we had all the components of what could be a really good band.
Through the introduction of the new Rockschool A Level course, we have been given the opportunity to perform more frequently to the public. With a need to raise money towards enhancing the Rose Garden as a performance space, I felt inspired to organise and participate in a fund raising musical concert. With such a vast amount of talented musicians at Fyling Hall, I did not find it difficult to find willing performers.
The final programme showcased a wide range of styles, collaborations and abilities. The Barn was transformed into an intimate bistro style room, and the decorative fairy lights set the tone for an informal but exciting evening of entertainment.
Comperes, Sharron and James helped the evening flow smoothly and kept the audience up to speed with the diverse programme.
The evening was a massive success with £140.00 being raised for the Rose Garden project.
It was a stressful, exhausting but exhilarating experience for me. As soon as I had performed my first composition and realised I was in control of the sound system, I relaxed into the evening.”
