Spectacular Music and Drama Showcase at Fyling Hall!
A Sold-Out Audience
On Tuesday 11th June, our talented music and drama pupils from years 7-10 dazzled a sold-out audience of parents and friends at the end-of-year Showcase. Mrs Swain and Mrs Jeeves were over the moon with the exceptional standard of performances, a testament to the pupils’ hard work and dedication during lessons and lunchtime rehearsals. A huge thank you to all the parents and friends who came to cheer on our young stars.
Here’s what some of our music and drama pupils had to say about their experiences:
“In the Showcase, I absolutely loved performing on stage under the bright lights. Seeing everything come together after all our rehearsals was amazing, and it was great to watch the other acts from the audience. The piano pieces were incredible – the performers were truly talented.” – Belle
“The performances that stood out for me were Isobel’s singing and the extract from ‘DNA’. It was so well done, and Eve’s part was hilarious.” – Tabby
“I enjoyed being part of the front of house team and chatting with the parents who came to the show. Watching the other performances was also a highlight. My favourite was ‘Girls Like That’ – it had the best staging. The final bows were lively and energetic, a perfect end to the evening.” – Oliver
“The singing performances were fantastic; everyone was so talented!” – Maisie
“Getting up on stage and performing was such a thrill. I loved the whole show and seeing it all come together.” – Olivia
“Isobel’s singing was a standout for me – she hit every high note perfectly and lowered her voice just right when needed. She was amazing. Performing with others was a lot of fun, and next time I want an even bigger role.” – Tegan
“Bonnie’s Shakespeare monologue was captivating because she showed her emotions so well.” – Florence
“I enjoyed all the performances in the Showcase. Some of my favourites were Megan and Evie’s song, Skye and Gabe’s piano piece, and the Year 10 band. Doing the bows with all my friends felt like a party on stage! It was a fantastic opportunity to perform with everyone and receive lots of great feedback.” – Bonnie
The evening was a resounding success, filled with incredible talent and memorable moments. We are already looking forward to next year’s Showcase!
