It is that time of year again when I have to wave a fond farewell to students who have finished their studies at Fyling Hall School and are moving on to pastures new.
The last two years have been tough on both my 6th Formers and my Year 11 students as both year groups’ final two years, leading up to their exams, have been blighted by lockdowns and uncertainty.
However, Fyling Hall breeds a hardy bunch of students; they did not let the small matter of a global pandemic stop them in their quest for academic glory!
Both groups were determined to continue their education whilst working from home and joined Teams calls every lesson in a bid to keep on top of their English studies. I am very proud of how they all coped and in the words of the writer William Ernest Henry: ‘I thank whatever gods may be for their unconquerable souls’.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all their hard work, to wish them an enjoyable remainder of the summer and all the best with their future studies . . . make the most of moving onto pastures new!
Love from Mrs Milner xoxo
