In September this year the year 9s visited the Wakefield Mining Museum as part of their economic activities topic. They have been learning about the different jobs associated with the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. As we study the rise and fall of the coalmining industry, this offered a great opportunity to experience what it was like to work down a coalmine 200 years ago. They all seemed to enjoy themselves and learned a lot from our guide Bob, an ex-miner himself.
