Last Monday five mathematicians from Forms 2 and 3 in the Junior School took part in the first Primary Mathematics Challenge to be held at Fyling Hall School. The children sat a paper set by The Mathematical Association, answering 25 fiendishly difficult questions in 45 minutes.
They all did brilliantly, and scored highly enough to be awarded certificates as follows:
Gold Award – Arthur Watson
Silver Award – Tomas Richardson
Bronze Awards – Calli Walsh, Ali Elhawary and Toby Richardson
The certificates, awarded by The Mathematical Association, were presented to the children in our Friday assembly by Fyling Hall’s Head of Maths, Miss Walker. Well done to everyone who took part!
