Fyling Hall School of Magic began yesterday amidst lots of excitement! The whole of Fyling Hall Junior School has been transformed to ‘Hogwarts’ for the half-term. The school looks amazing. At Fyling Hall everyone was absolutely delighted to return to school after the Christmas holiday.
Pupils arrived, many in their robes and with their new broomsticks and were sorted into houses by the sorting hat! Children have sketched Hogwarts, designed wizards hats, listened to an orchestra playing Hedwig’s theme to identify instruments, mixed potions – their favourite being Galaxy Potion which takes you forward in time-, learnt some music and a whole lot more.
There will be plenty of magic and Harry Potter themed work going on across the school – letter writing, creative writing with a magical theme and poetry. The Harry Potter theme will even feature in our choral speaking at the Eskdale Festival of the Arts. We will be making lots of potions of course and everyone is looking forward to the visit Whitby Falconers. The falconers will bring owls and snakes for the children to learn about! Magic School gives. usthe opportunity to design magical creatures and perhaps even make a dragons egg!
Most importantly our pupils will have a lot of fun and a truly memorable term because “the days that make us happy make us wise.”!
