Looking after horses takes the support of many, so Fyling Hall School’s stables‘ yard is no stranger to a number of visiting professionals. Meet Keiran, our stables’ dentist. When he visits, many of the children come to watch . . . think they’ll be cleaning their teeth twice as well!
Keiran trained in the States and has now set up following his uncle’s path as an equine dentist. His training will take over three years to complete and that only qualifies him to use hand tools not powered tools or anaesthetic. Libby, our vet specialising in equines, trained for seven years. Our farrier, Ivor, trained for five years under supervision . . . the list is endless.
All the professionals who visit are are great examples of commitment. Our stables are not just about riding, but learning to care after the horses. The individuals who do so are a true inspiration and are role models for our students in more ways than one.
