The junior pupils had a lovely afternoon for their Sports Day and summer fair last week. Parents, friends, staff and students enjoyed watching the races and athletic events and all the participants had a super afternoon, with the usual good sportsmanship on display. Congratulations to Resolution, the winning team. Mr Allen presented the cup to Resolution’s House Captain, Olivia Coates. Two school athletics records were also broken by Connie Bradwell Moore ( 600 metres ) and Harry Brindley ( shot put ). Well done to all the pupils who tried very hard took part and helped to capture the fun but competitive spirit of the event.
Thank you to Mrs Freer for organising the afternoon, and to Miss Havelock for her support. Many thanks to Mr Coates, Miss Anders and the senior sports staff for organising the Y5/6 events, and to the PTA for running the Fair. The stalls, which included freshly baked scones, face painting, tombola and a wet sponge competition , (which our head boy and girl enjoyed!) helped to raise £130. Thank you also to Arthur and George for scoring, and the 6th Formers who were ‘roped in’ to hold the finishing tape.
