It was a strange feeling to stand in front of almost the whole school on Monday morning. Weird at first, but I got used to it very fast and could almost immediately concentrate on my task. Still, there was this thought in the back of my head telling me that, were I at home, standing in front of the whole school would have meant in front of 800 students. When I think back, I think it was a very good idea to tell people where all of us came from. In my opinion, it is very important to know about the backgrounds of a person you are talking to. In our modern society, people often forget how others might have different views of the world because they come from a different culture. We should appreciate the multiculturalism everywhere, but also in this school, for it is of great value. Also, I found that it was a nice honour to represent all the many German pupils at this school during the assembly, although I am not entirely German.
