“On Wednesday the 30th September year 10-13 drama classes went to the Stephen Jospeh Theatre in Scarborough to see the play ‘Hero’s Welcome’. It is a new play by Alan Ayckbourn the local playwright.

The stage was unusual because it was built as a theatre in the round which was a new experience for us. It was not like anything we had ever seen in Germany.

The play was about a group of six, three of them had been childhood friends. It begins with one of the friends coming back from a wat with a new wife. Over time the past starts to reveal its self. Near the end the situation escalated too.

We learnt that there are many different ways to create a play and will be writing up our experiences in a piece of controlled assessment.”
