Mrs Park asked me what was the biggest benefit to have German penfriends over to Fyling Hall School. In my opinion, it could definitely help people to develop their German language skills. We tried to talk German to our penfriends and it helped us to develop our listening and speaking skills. It also gave us an opportunity to meet new people from different country. I really enjoyed my German penfriends coming over to England and I cannot wait to go to Germany for exchange.

On Wednesday night German exchange students arrived at our school. My pen partner – Ida, and two others girls stayed in my dorm. I was really…no, not like this – I was REALLY excited. I spent all weekend with them in two trips: to Whitby and Danby National Park.

There were many pluses of these journeys: meeting new people, practising own German speech, discovering interesting places and getting useful information.

There was only one minus: I needed to get up so early!

Yes, for lots of people nine o’clock is late, or normal time to get up, but I am not in their “team”.

I really enjoyed this week of practise with my pen friend and all exchange students… that was a great experience)
