On Wednesday 18th March, the sixth form Geographers went on a field trip to two rivers in the area as part of their examination preparation. They were investigating the connection between the width of a river and its velocity and whether this changes as it travels from source to mouth.

At Maybeck the group worked hard on gathering the correct information even though it was extremely cold, especially in the river! They worked well as a team, ensuring that each played their part in producing the data needed for their investigation.

As a reward, they were treated to a hot chocolate and a cake while in Lealholm, the second place visited. This was well received and managed to warm us all up, if only for a short time! Well done to all of my sixth formers.
