On Sunday 22nd June pupils took part in the annual world cup tournament held on the all weather pitch. Fortunately, temperatures weren’t quite as hot as they are in Brazil! A total of 50 pupils participated from years 7-13, split across 8 teams. The tournament consisted of 2 groups with each team playing a minimum of 4 matches.
The final was a tense affair and top scorer of the tournament, Joe Sykes, looked to have won it for England with his hat-trick, only for the Dutch team to score 2 late goals. The final score: England 3-4 Holland.
Well done to all who participated on the day and a special thanks to Samantha Gibson and Joe Sykes for organising a great afternoon of football!
