The musicians at Fyling Hall have been very busy over the past week with 2 very different musical events to prepare for. On Thursday evening 22nd March we invited Mistral, the elite wind group from Whitby Music centre, to perform at the school. Some of our own musicians are part of the group and in a varied programme the audience was treated to music by Haydn through to arrangements of the Simpsons which featured Fyling Halls small orchestra alongside Mistral. There were some lovely performances but we were all incredibly impressed by Grade 7 violinist, Hyunbee (year 8) who recently won a bursary from the Eskdale Festival.
On Monday evening our level 2 and level 3 Rockschool students staged their live performance module under the name of ‘Paisley Ties’. We are incredibly proud of the way the pupils have put together the programme, arranged the music and rehearsed in their own time to stage a 45 minute concert for parents and peers.
