From Bristol to Bishop Burton: Fyling Hall students look ahead
BTEC and A-level Results Day 2026
Students at Fyling Hall School are preparing for university, apprenticeships and gap years after receiving this year’s A-level and BTEC results.
One third of all A-level grades awarded were at A*–B, including five grades at A* or A. These top grades were achieved in French, German, art, mathematics and economics, showing the varied strengths within this small year group.
Mathis, who achieved excellent grades, will study finance at the University of Bristol, while John’s outstanding results have allowed him to study architecture at the University of Edinburgh.
Bea’s A-level results mean she will study geography at the University of Liverpool.
Joe, a Year 12 student, who will be Head Pupil next year, achieved an A* in French after completing the A level a year early.
Sarah and Emma have chosen to take gap years before deciding on their next steps.
BTEC in Equine Management
Katie A and Katie W both successfully completed their BTEC in Equine Management, with Katie A now preparing to begin an equine coaching apprenticeship at Bishop Burton College
A message from the Headmaster
Headmaster Steven Allen said:
“What stands out this year is the range of paths our students are taking. Some are heading to university, one is beginning an apprenticeship, and others are taking time to consider what comes next.
“Joe’s A* in French, achieved a year early, is also a fantastic result. He should be very proud of it.
“We have a small Sixth Form and know these young people very well. Each of them has contributed something different to life at Fyling Hall, and we wish them every success with whatever comes next.”
