All aboard!
Form 2 had a lovely day at the Captain Cook Memorial Museum in Whitby. The children have been studying Whitby’s famous son in History lessons so they felt as if they were stepping back in time as they entered the house where he was an apprentice sailor. They were amazed to find the building as Cook would have seen it himself and were full of questions and observations. They especially enjoyed sketching the artefacts and exhibits. Our museum guide commented on how knowledgeable the pupils were on the subject, and also how polite and well-behaved!
Many thanks to our expert guide, Rev Newlyn, and to Mrs Locker who drove the minibus.
Our next trip will have to be a voyage on the mini-Endeavour…..
