The entries for the local music and drama competition have gone in today! The Eskdale Festival of the Arts is a festival of music and the spoken word, consisting of the Festival held each year in March. Entry into the Festival is a long standing tradition at Fyling Hall. This year most of year 11 to 13 drama will take part in monologue classes. As always our Junior School Choir will take part as well as students choosing their individual musical pieces.
Senior School students must now prepare a monologue of around 2-3 minutes to perform. They have chosen a wide variety of pieces including Bouncers by John Godber, The Crucible by Arthur Miller and Educating Rita by Willy Russell. Junior School students will prepare a number of pieces musical and spoken piece. In keeping with their Harry Potter themed term, will incorporate this into their choral speaking.
We look forward to seeing how the pieces develop as we approach the festival.
