Take a look at Fyling Hall’s Year 6′s latest creative comprehension task.
As it is the last day of the half term I have set you a creative comprehension task today. I would like you to draw or paint pictures of characters or scenes from Kensuke’s Kingdom, using information and character descriptions from the text and a touch of imagination to fill in the details! You might choose to depict Michael and Stella Artois, Kensuke, Michael’s mum and dad, or even the Peggy Sue. Alternatively, you could choose a scene from the book; for example, when Michael first meets Kensuke as he lights his first fire, or Michael and Kensuke in Kensuke’s cave as Kensuke looks after him.
You can decide which characters or scenes to depict, and whether to draw, paint, use pastels, or even make a model. If you draw or paint, you can use whatever size paper you like. Be as creative as you like, but please send me photos of your finished work and keep it safe so that we can put it on display when we get back to school. I am looking forward to seeing your creations!
Set by Mrs Richardson, now take a look at what they produced, demonstrating their creative comprehension. Well done!
