Congratulations to Ebony Brown for her fantastic achievement in the Rotary Club of Whitby & Districts‘ Young Photographer Competition. Ebony achieved 2nd place for her set of 3 photos and her firework photo got overall winner in her age category. A very impressive result!
On Ebony’s set of 3 photos judges’ commented:
Ebony’s set was an extremely close runner up, and it was a tough decision in the end. Each picture is technically excellent, pin sharp and exquisitely framed. She shows a keen eye for composition and has the skill to capture the image properly. These are pictures to be proud of.
On her firework display photo, which achieved Best Overall Photograph in the Intermediate Section, the judges commented:
Ebony has produced a spectacular picture of exploding fireworks here – a very tricky subject to get right. Standing in the perfect spot is only the first step to capture something like this, but poor timing or loss of sharpness can ruin the effect. Ebony has achieved all three challenges perfectly here in this remarkable picture.
Rotarian, Susan Menier, further added, “The standard of all entries this year was very high, and the judges were greatly impressed by the quality of the pictures entered, and by the imagination shown by the photographers. Everyone who entered shows huge potential and their individual personalities really shine through the work.
The results in the category of 11-13 years – Best set of 3 photographs are . . .
- 1st Amber Clews
- 2nd Ebony Brown (Fyling Hall)+ Best photo Fireworks
- 3rd Destinie Storr
Once again, Congratulations to Ebony!
