Can you believe that it is nearly December? Can you also believe that there are only ten and a half days of school left before the Christmas break? The build-up to Christmas is an exciting time at school! Further details will follow (and teaching in the Senior School will take place right up to the end of Tuesday, 11th December), but let’s give you a little snapshot of what’s in store!
Carols at Mrs White’s
We kick off our festivities on Friday, 7th December with Carols at Mrs White’s. This magical evening is sponsored by our PTA who provide mince pies, cheese and a bit of wine (including non-alcoholic!) whilst parents, carers and friends enjoy our Junior School Choir. We thank Mrs White for opening her home for this special night!
Christmas Shopping
Fancy a bit of shopping in York? If your child(ren) is interested, please contact Mr Coates to join the trip taking place on Saturday, 8th December.
Carol Singing
On Monday, 10th December our Senior School Choir visit Fairways Court and Peregrine House. For years, our choir have shared Christmas carols with the residents of these retirement homes. Being part of our community is a value we hold dear at all times of year, particularly at Christmas.
Junior School Christmas Play and Christmas Fayre
The following afternoon, Tuesday, 11th December is the Junior School Christmas Play. It will be a full house as friends and family enjoy this delightful production. The play is immediately followed by our Christmas Fayre. This is our second annual fayre, and it is sure not to disappoint. Come for your Christmas shopping, browse the fantastic stalls and see our lovely school in its Christmas glory! Led by our Junior School, we will have 12 market stalls with various wares including Jess Hogarth’s new range . . . Fyling Hall honey . . . Richard Saltmarsh photography . . Bo and Betsy’s sweets . . , and many more! Of course, we will also have mince pies, carols and maybe even a special visitor!
Christmas Jumpers, Lunch and Santa Dash
With lessons complete it is time for Christmas jumpers in the Senior School, Christmas lunch and then the Santa Dash! Organised by our Sixth Formers and Mr Mayne, Wednesday’s activities are always eagerly anticipated and jolly good fun is had by all!
Carol Service
We wrap up term with our Carol Concert at St Stephen’s Church in Robin Hood’s Bay. A traditional feature in our calendar, this carol service is simply enchanting! Our students have been hard at work designing the programme’s cover. Who’s design will be selected? I hope you will join us for this full school event!
As promised, more details will follow in due course.
