Years 4 and 5 Take on Carlton Adventure!

Last week, I had the pleasure of taking Years 4 and 5 on their residential to Carlton Adventure – and the adventure really did begin the moment we arrived (making the beds was quite the challenge!).

Action-Packed Days

Over the course of a few action-packed days, the children threw themselves into every activity – from canoeing and archery to high ropes, rock climbing, Night Line and orienteering. To my surprise (and theirs), I was crowned champion archer – which caused quite a stir!

A Leap of Faith

What stood out most was their attitude. Whether they were tackling the Leap of Faith, navigating a blindfolded obstacle course, or cheering on their classmates, there was a real sense of encouragement, teamwork and pride.

Muddy Knees and Delicious Food

There were, of course, plenty of muddy knees, tired legs and big smiles. Even the quieter moments – sharing stories over dinner, or the joy (and slight chaos!) of making their own beds – were special in their own way.

The food was also a big hit and kept everyone going strong.

Highlights from the Pupils

“The meals were brilliant – my favourite was the Sunday lunch!”
Harriet, Form 2
“My favourite activity was the Leap of Faith. I loved the Yorkshire Wobbly Wood!”
Olivia F, Form 3
“I loved the high ropes because I conquered my fear of heights. I would love to go back!”
Hugh S, Form 2

It really was a memorable trip – one full of laughter, learning, and lots of little moments that we’ll all talk about for a long time.
