More From Project 13;
We are “Project 13” a local 7 piece ska/punk/ rock band, playing tunes from the likes of Madness, the Specials, Reel Big Fish, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less than Jake, Sublime, Wham, Eagle’s and many more. Like a phoenix risen from the ashes of lockdown, we’ve built up a band of local musicians who have played in numerous bands and thrown in to the mix a couple of new members to the music scene.
We decided to start a band that would be primarily fun that everyone could relate to. Playing well known tunes, but putting our twist on them, and some not so popular tunes that will interest the inquisitive musical ear. After our first real gig at Staxtonbury 2022 we’ve played in some fantastic venues and had brilliant feedback.
Project 13 comprises people of all ages and walks of life from student to retired.
Dan vocals. New to the band and wow he brings so much energy to the group. Great singer and has been singing in local pubs for some time now.
Linz, vocals/ trombone. Another new member of the band, very talented musician with as much energy as Dan, both bringing the band to life.
Eric, guitar. Established musician who brings a lot of knowledge to the band. Keeps us in line sometimes when it all falls apart.
Theo, drums. Only at school but what a drummer. Lot’s of potential with this one. Watch this space.
Leah, bass and sax. Only learnt the bass in lockdown and wow! Again, so impressed how far she’s come. She’s an established sax player that’s played in various bands and shows.
Tony, bass and trombone. A veteran to the Scarborough music scene and has influenced many local talent over the years. Never played this style, but can clearly see he’s thoroughly enjoying it.
Will, key’s and sound. Very talented musician who has MD’d shows and runs the Cloughton Rat Pack, who most of us are members. Modestly sits in the back doing his ‘thing’ to a very hight standard.
‘Me’ Martin, trumpet. Played in a whole variety of bands/ shows over the years. Proud as punch that the members are loving playing as much as they do. To me it’s all about enjoying it.
