GCSEs are fast approaching for our current Y11 pupils. In the Art Studio, they are already working on their final project. This is a 7 week project that will counts as 40% of their GCSE. We are now 4weeks in, and time is flying!! The outcome of this component is a 10 hour controlled exam, taking place on 1st and 2nd April.
Pupils have been given a topic set by the AQA exam board. Within this they must complete the four Assessment Objectives of
- artist research
- recording observations
- developing ideas
- and exploring techniques
- and planning a 10 hour final piece!
Topics have included:
- texture
- natural forms
- messages
- the elements
- working
- surroundings
- space
During this build up to the exam, the Art Studio is open to Y11 students for additional support after school on Mondays and Wednesdays. Pupils are encouraged to work in their own time too.
