Will Fyling Hall’s Art students rise to the challenge? Their challenge starts with researching a textiles technique and sharing their findings with the group. Once all techniques have been demonstrated by the students themselves, the Y10 girls are expected to design and make a wreath using one or more textiles technique learnt. The end result will be the sharing of amazing wreath designs with you and Dalewood Trust in the near future…watch this space!
Mr Todd, Teacher of Art, came up with the idea to incorporate this into the Y10 work when the school spread the word about the charity’s task to make and donate wreaths to help promote Christmas cheer and community spirit. He commented,
‘In light of this years events it felt like something that we wanted to be a part of for many reasons. It allows our students to work on an actual brief and to a deadline, while also making them aware of the Dalewood Trust and the wider community.’
Head of Art, Ms Mansfield added
‘I can’t wait to see the finished product. It might become something that we explore doing on an annual basis. Thank you to the Dalewood Trust for contacting us.’
We too cannot wait to see how our art students rise to the challenge!
