In lieu of our planned Open Day, let our Head Matron, Miss Anders, take you on an informal, virtual tour of Fyling Hall School. With the pupils studying at home, Miss Anders gives you open access to all areas of school. Take a closer look at Main House, the library, our Junior School, Mem, Mulgrave and more! It is not quite the same without our wonderful students, but looking around, it is easy to see why children thrive in our environment.
Our Open Day was intentionally planned on VEDay75, a three-day international celebration taking place 8th – 10th May. “The terrible Coronavirus emergency and consequent Government guidance means that participants are (encouraged) to cancel or postpone the majority of the VE Day 75 community celebrations due to take place on the bank holiday weekend of 8th – 10th May. It is right and proper that people should be kept safe and healthy.”
Please join us in a moment of reflection and Remembrance at 11am on Friday 8th May, the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, and pause for a Two Minute Silence. We are also proud to join “the people of our great country and abroad (by standing) at 3pm within the safety of (our) living rooms, front or back gardens, outside (our) front doors or balconies if (you) have one, and (to) undertake the Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW II, using the following words. “TO THOSE WHO GAVE SO MUCH, WE THANK YOU,” using this unique opportunity to pay tribute to the many millions at home and abroad that gave so much to ensure we can all enjoy the freedom we share today.”
In the meantime, please enjoy Miss Anders’ very special tribute and words of inspiration during this crisis. And we hope you enjoy her informal, virtual tour.
