On Wednesday the 18th our A2 biology class was taught by a guest speaker, Charlotte Edge. She covered one of our A2 topics, the menstrual cycle. As well as providing us with useful hand-outs for the central information we need for our exam, she also linked the content to the farming industry and how the menstrual cycle in animals is controlled by vets in order to maximise profits. Her passion for veterinary medicine came across clearly as we discussed current debates in parliament surrounding the farming industry and how medicine is used to enhance production. She also gave us valuable advice for our University applications. We all found this very useful as it was good to hear information from a university student’s perspective.Pip Jones and Niamh Sweeney (Y13)
