Fees
Our aim at Fyling Hall School has always been to keep fees as widely affordable as possible, and to avoid ‘hidden extras’. Our fees remain amongst the most competitive in the UK.
Optional extras for which we do charge, such as instrumental tuition, are listed below.

Costs vary depending on the activity or excursion with information provided in advance (usually half-termly).
MUSIC TUITION
Individual music tuition is billed directly by our peripatetic music teachers. Cost varies depending on lesson length and payment is due on invoice.
Fees are reviewed each year and new fees usually come into effect in the autumn term.
International boarding fees include daily English as a Second / Additional Language (ESL/EAL) lessons.
The day fee includes lunches and transport from Whitby and intermediate villages. Subsidised transport is also provided to and from Scarborough and the surrounding areas.
Boarding and international fees include tuition, laundry, accommodation and all meals.
All text books are inclusive of the fee until Year 9. At GCSE and A Level books are charged as extras since they are bought by the pupils for their own private use.
- A sibling discount of 10% applies to the younger child.
Additional Charges
- English as a Second Language lessons are available to day students at a supplement of £500per term.
- Airport and train station transfers are charged dependent on distance and cost and will be clearly communicated.
Fee Payment
Fees are due on or before the first day of term to which they relate. Any additional costs accrued during a term – optional extras such as horse-riding, weekend activities, airport transfers etc. – will be added to the following terms invoice.
Music Tuition will be invoiced separately by the individual music teachers, with payment due on receipt of invoice.
Notice
One full term’s notice in writing to the Headmaster is required for the withdrawal of a pupil from the school. If such notice is not given, a full term’s fees at the appropriate rate will be charged in lieu as liquidated damages.
