The PTA’s Chocolate Bingo was a wonderful, fun way to end a busy and productive half term in the Junior School. Thanks to very generous donations of chocolate and lots of pupils, parents and staff attending, the evening was a huge success. The prizes were so large that the younger pupils had trouble carrying them back to their seats!

Mr Instone was our bingo caller and he did a splendid job and I enjoyed being his Easter bunny helper. The PTA served hotdogs followed by jelly and ice cream between games and we ended the evening with the raffle, the prizes easily filling a large table. So, thank you to the PTA for organising this fun, chocolate filled event and to the parents for their generous donations of chocolate- it really was an eggcellent evening.
On Wednesday, Mr Allen came and helped to judge the entries in the Easter egg competition. As usual, the standard was really high and the pupils had thoroughly enjoyed designing and creating their eggs. In Form 1, Seraphina’s Mad Hatter was the clear winner, in Form 2, Evan’s fabulous Jack Sparrow pirate won and Oona’s marvellous Cruella DeVil was triumphant in Form 3. The worthy winners all received Easter eggs as prizes.
In our final assembly we discussed the term’s highlights and celebrated the success of the pupils by rewarding some special Golden Book certificates. Margot and Seraphina in Form 1, Annabel and Esmae in Form 2 and Edward and Matilda in Form 3; congratulations to all of you.
We all agreed that it had been a fantastic term with the Eskdale Festival, Speak Out, Alice in Wonderland, our trip to the National Railway Museum and the whole school run being the main highlights.
The children have a lot to look forward to next term with a trip on the steam train, Sports Day, the swimming gala and beach school to name a few!
We hope you have a lovely Easter break.
