As part of their History topic, Form 2 in the Juniors visited St Oswald’s Church in Lythe to study the exhibition of Viking Gravestones. The stones were discovered in 1910-11 during the restoration of the church, but their importance was not recognised until the 2007, when they were brought into the church and put on display. The children enjoyed sketching the intricate images on the stones and produced some lovely artwork.
Thank you to Mr and Mrs Birchall for accompanying the pupils and to Mrs Spagnuolo for driving the minibus.
