John Hegley’s ‘New and Selected Potatoes’
On Saturday a trip was organised to watch John Hegley, a comedic poet, who sings and reads his poems. Mr Husband and Mrs Park took about 20 students and staff to the show at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough. It was a great night, and we had a lot of fun. During his performance John Hegley made the audience do funny movements, like the Gilimot dance. He read poems out of his books, and many students had their books signed during the interval. It was a great night – as a German student I was surprised by how much I enjoyed John Hegley’s poems, music and jokes.
Sam H, Year 11
