The run up to Christmas is traditionally a very busy time for the music department. This year is no exception! Rehearsals are already in full swing for the Carol Service and the Junior School production. In addition, Fyling Hall is once again proud to be hosting the Trinity Music Exams on 14th December. These will be taking place in Woodside, and, as before, we will welcome pupils across the area including our own talented pupils.
Mr Cross has been busy rehearsing with his brass quintet, 5 Star Brass. They are presenting a concert at St Stephen’s Church in Fylingthorpe on Saturday 17th November. The quintet will play a varied programme of music ranging from Faure to the Beatles, Michael Buble to Duke Ellington. There really will be something for everyone.! Admission is free with a retiring collection.
Miss Stewart has also been busy. She has been in the recording studio doing backing vocals for the new John P Taylor album. Cypress Road was released on 17th October and is available from https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/cypress-road/1438035498
And last but certainly not least, Year 7 pupils Gracie Boocock and Neve Eddon have recently had a taste of stardom in their roles as part of the professional production of The Greatest Show at Flamingoland. Both girls are members of Colebrooke Media, who initially put them forward for the auditions with Pure Entertainment Group. The show was a huge success! Watch this space for their next foray into the world of showbiz!
