On Friday, the sixth form art students went on a drawing trip to Redcar Blast Furnace and the South Gare. They were collecting visual information for their coursework, and hoping to be inspired by the extraordinary landscape.
Alfie Husband, Year 13, said, “The whole day was quite amazing. The sheer size of the Blast Furnace was breathtaking and the landscape around it beautiful. I got such a lot from the time I spent drawing”.
Su Yean Kim, Year 12, said, “The fishing community at the South Gare was surreal. The little green huts are sat between the sand dunes and the steel works and show the diversity of the area”.
Mr Husband added, “It was such a wonderful day, and the students got so much out of it. I hope to do it again soon”.
