Last Friday evening a group of students got together in the dining room to prepare for Chinese New Year. It is customary to give all the children in the family a red envelope with a gift of money inside so our aim was to make an envelope for each pupil in the school. To keep us going a group of students led by Sharron cooked up noodles, egg fried rice seaweed, spring rolls and of course prawn crackers!
On Monday morning we celebrated the start of the Year of the Monkey with a full school assembly in the Barn which was decorated with red lanterns and balloons. Sharron and Sueyean led our Far Eastern students in telling the story of the zodiac and then they handed their envelopes stuffed with sweets to each member of the school.
